Big Walnut Youth Wrestling Club
Grade: 1st-6th
Sign Ups: Youth sign-ups will take place online at www.bwyso.com . We will close registration on November 20th.
Practice Times and Locations: Practice for all grades will begin the week of Monday, November 17th Big Walnut Middle School wrestling room (299 Hill St, Sunbury, OH 43074) for boys. This is the building on the visitor side of the football field. The girls will practice at Big Walnut High School (713 Miller Drive, Sunbury, OH).
Practices will run:
BOYS:
1st-3rd grade boys: 6:15 PM- 7:15 PM on Tuesday and Thursdays (Middle School room).
4th-6th grade boys: 6:15 PM- 7:45 PM on Monday and Wednesdays (Middle School room).
GIRLS:
All Grades girls: 5:30- 7:00 PM Tuesdays and Thursdays (High School Room)
**Parents are encouraged to drop off their wrestlers as space is limited
What to Wear: T-shirt, shorts, headgear and wrestling shoes.
Registration Fees: $135.00 for all age levels -registration includes t-shirt, coaching and competitions. We are offering a sibling discount, $115.00 for each additional sibling.
| Competition (Boys): Will compete in the Delaware County Youth Wrestling League, a new competition league comprising four Delaware County youth wrestling clubs-OWLs (Berlin and Olentangy HS), Orange Crush (Orange HS), Big Walnut (Big Walnut HS), and Little Pacers (Hayes HS). The DCYWL season will consist of three dual meets and a league championship tournament at the end of the season. Wrestlers will get 1-2 matches at duals; the end-of-season tournament is double elimination. For each dual meet, Grades 1-3 will compete from 12:00-1:00 PM; Grades 4-6 will compete from 1:00-2:00 PM. League Schedule: 12/14:Hayes vs. Big Walnut (BW) (Location to be determined) 1/11:Crush vs. Big Walnut (BW) (Location to be determined) 1/25:Big Walnut (BW) vs. OWLs (Berlin) (Location to be determined) 2/8: League Championship (times and sites TBD) Additional tournaments for advanced wrestlers will be communicated throughout the season |
Competition (Girls): Will compete in the Central Ohio Girls Wrestling League. They will wrestle girls from Orange Spark, Upper Arlington, Worthington, Watkins Memorial, Marysville and Delaware youth girls wrestling clubs. Tournament dual schedule will be announced soon.
Parent Volunteers: All parents are asked to help work on dual/tournament table. It's easy, fun and we teach you how to do the job.
Volunteer Coaches: We are looking for volunteer coaches to help with the running of each group. If interested, please email Coach Renner (boys) or Coach Reall (girls) at the address below.
